Garrett Strang is an American photographer who has lived in France for ten years and is fascinated by the
appropriation of Parisian public space by a variety of people at the heart of a cultural kaleidoscope.
His images are taken on the spot, without calculation, raw and blatantly true, “in the raw”, as he himself defi nes
it. He captures the moment when objects and people levitate, when glances question the lens. Mystery and
glamour are the order of the day. So many magical, fl eeting moments of a Paris “on the edge”. For Christine
Spengler, who wrote the preface, the photographer offers us “a timeless vision of Paris in which he has captured all the themes of legendary photographers such as Robert Doisneau, Brassaï and André Kertész”.

 

Garrett Strang est un photographe américain installé en France depuis dix ans et fasciné par l’appropriation del’espace public parisien par une variété de personnes au coeur d’un kaléidoscope culturel. Ses vues sont prisessur le vif, sans calcul, crues et criantes de vérité, « in the raw », comme il le défi nit lui-même. Il saisit l’instantoù les objets et les personnes sont en lévitation, où les regards interrogent l’objectif. Mystère et glamour sontau rendez-vous.
